When these Chapel Hill clients had their home inspected, they unfortunately got the news that the crawlspace had moisture issues, including fungal growth. This was not the news they were hoping for in their new home so they reached out to us. They hired us to fully take care of these issues and ensure their house is insulated and weatherproofed.
We started the project with a removal of all existing insulation and debris from the crawl space. Then we started in on the mold remediation. This entailed removing all the fungus and spraying disinfectant on the affected areas. We installed a 16 mil poly (vapor barrier) to keep out any future potential moisture. Then we installed R 10 reflective insulation board to the perimeter walls and R 19 batt insulation in the perimeter band. To finish off the project, we insulated and weatherproofed the crawlspace door.
